WISDOM OF GITA

I used to attend discourses on Bhagavat Gita by Chinmayananda. His speeches on Karmayoga influenced me a lot. Gita is nectar, ambrosia to the world from the birth place of all civilizations. When I read Gita I find the meaning of this existence we call as life.. I have received one anonymous message on my cell phone recently that I should treat all humans equally. It is true that merits and demerits of humans can not be judged on a weighing machine and it is true that you don’t have the qualification or merit to judge and demean your fellow human being.

A a verse in Sanyas Yoga from Gita:
Vidya Vinayasampanne
Brahmane gavi hastini
Suni chaivashwapake cha
Pantitha samadarsina

The one who sees the intelligent, great, animals, lower class as equals is called a Jnani.

For such great Jnanis the world is a place to learn not to place sting and malign his fellow human beings. He does not differentiate his friends or enemies. He does not need to scare his enemies as he does not have any fear for this world. He treats every one equal. You must learn the greatness of Gita in detail-verse by verse then you venture not to threaten another human being. You are no Buddha when you keep the thought of how to bring down your opponents to silence. First you practise your own mode of silence and  naturally the world turn into a peace ful place.

For a Jnani if some one publishes his book through  Harper Collins or Penguin or through Australian Embassy or Mathruboomi or DC Books or Rupa &and Co, it is same as far as they try not to demean mankind in general. And for Rupa &Co and Mathrubhoomi;  good and eccentric publishing houses but unsure they entertain gossips of the media of your kind. The history of Rupa & and; Co and each publishing house you must study and learn in detail first before venturing for it.  That is something I know strange a word to the world of Sunset.

When you know the importance of Atmasamyana Yoga you understand the meaning of your blunders you have committed in the past.

Atmasamyana Yoga in Gita
 Suhrumitranyudaseena
Madythadwesha bandusha
Sadhuswapacha Papeshu
Sambudhirvishishyathe

The one who treats friends, enemies, sinners, poor, mediators equally is called Vishishta Yogi. It is up to you to decide which section of the society you belong. Treaten not your fellow beings; that is not honourable a claim to carry forward on your crest editions.
PHILOSOPHY
Vivekanada - I respect his fearless value oriented Philosophy

I have seen newspapers allot a quarter of an inch from their mega news print matters to philosophical quotes. I have read a few like you should be honest and sincere. When insincere people publish such flukes it is better to tell them straight on their face you cheat. But speaking in public is an art, when some one calls you ugly and gives you a lecture on how to behave in public you laugh I know. May be a few in anger slaps you and if you are willing for it keep doing that art. But epics are played only once, it is true you can not repeat it. You play it only once, Incarnations of God is to safeguard this Earth and you find no place in this earth to play history again and again or to repeat epics. In your golden triangle, who played the deliberate game to dethrone a crown is not important but whom you victimised for that, who robbed the most, these questions arise when you repeat the circulations for the second edition.  A beggar is of course a better human being than a robber. Great sages used to beg for their living but they never considered it as an inhuman act. But robbery is a criminal offense of all ages. And philosophy of the universe is such that you can not squeeze it  in one capsule through the quarter of an inch of one insincere mind or your world wide circulations...

PRAYER

Where is God and how to reach him?. Vivekananda tried to find God and he could reach up to the presence of God. You may not find him in  palatial mansions but find him in a hut of Kuchela. You may not find him near your high end knowledge house but find him playing with one illiterate. The depth of his creations can not be measured by humans. His profound vision can not be measured on a weighing scale. The really great ones will not go behind to measure the depth of their fellow beings. They will never come forward and declare that they are like that of Abraham Lincoln or Mahatma Gandhi. Only creator of this universe can do that job and he is the only one who is capable of doing it. Tagore humbles himself before God and his prayers are for Lord. It is true that a human does not need a Prayer and it is foolishness to offer it for a fellow human being. A river can not measure the depth of one Ocean, it can only fall on the surface of one ocean and end as a wave. The same way only God can understand the meaning of a Prayer; not a human. Look at the depth of this prayer Tagore offers to Lord.

All Around the World

All around the world darkness prevails
And so the luster in thee eyes effulges more
The cloud of gloom has engulfed in me from every direction
Lord your joyous countenance do I behold in the heart
Spreading the shadow of bereavement, Death travels
on every footstep
And seizes away the wealth of care whatsoever
Yet amidst that death the deathless image adorns
Leaving aside the bereavement of death I stare at that
Countenenance
Your message of assurance, have I come to listen, Lord
Never would I be afflicted with the false fear and vain bereavement
The pains of the heart would I tell and accept the nectar
by Prayer
Lord on your fearless lap have I been really favoured
with the shelter..

It is true that the only one place a human can surrender his self is at the sanctum of God and he is fearless and can only shelter the needy and his depth and his visions you can not toss down on ink marks. He makes me fearless and he understands a Prayer and he does not get tempered on a Prayer like the crownless kings of media..

Who is a Humanitarian?????

He editor of one English Weekly which states - Journalism with a human touch

Below: He shows how he expresses his humanitarian journalism
Stories he promotes. You may feel it is a kind of tabloid news. But not...... he is a humanitarian in all aspects. This is the story of Amrtia Sher - Gil (1912-1941). I have not heard of her. It is news. Interesting one.
How graceful she looks in her sarie. But the editor of human touch journalism will not agree...

I don't think I need to give an introduction on her. When I read about Amrita Sher-Gil, I thought of her and I find  a similarity. Madhavikutty in her story said she used to stand naked in her house and dreamt of all her celestial lovers and all about her life. She is of course one of my favorite poets. I like her poetry more than her stories.
BANGALORE

Bangalore was a beautiful garden city with greenery all around until invasions from intruders. Bangalore in its golden heart treasured a lot of goodness with no past record of negative signboards. Unfortunately a group has formed in between on exclusive pages of black-dot brains to transform and seal this city in an empty rum cask Shadows from one time wheel rolled over this city as a black carpet like a widow’s useless curses and banters. Polluted lakes added stench and the wealth accumulated by sting missions plastered the city in hot plates. Cool soothing breeze turned wild on time bound seasonal changes and over a period of time MG Road has transformed as a pool of gossip mongers. City of Bangalore withstood invasions from continents to Weekly incisions of monsters and safeguarded its boundaries of green gardens and lovely landscapes. This city of garden remains as a proven example that you can not paint it black or seal its beauty in empty casks. No need for this city to fall on a giant shadow of emptiness.

FREEDOM OF CHOICE

When I was in college a true Gandhian was invited to give a speech on Gandhian Studies. There was a new course introduced as Gandhian Studies. He spoke about Gandhian principles in detail. You will not become a Gandhi merely by wearing a dhothi or khadi outfits. How true are you in your conscious when you do your actions. That shows the real you; not exactly through a biased media propaganda. You rape a woman and when you say you are born in this world to set right moral standards, people will call you lunatic, not a righteous man according to moral standards. My mother was an honest school teacher, she was asked by her head master many times to submit her application for the best teacher’s award, she refused and I asked her why she did that. She said her duty is to teach and not to claim or go behind for awards. My father was an artist. They were different of course from the people who sell their stories in the market like hot cakes and not teach any moral values to their children. If you have a news paper in your hand you can even write a column on KR Narayan or NASA or praise Australian Ravens or Donkeys. It depends on your class which topic you prefer to circulate. I have a friend who goes to orphanages, poor homes, hospitals and find their needs and offers volunteer services. She told me recently one of the poor homes for children of construction workers require under garments. I remembered the enthusiasm of one news paper in collecting pink under garment through their front page to send  to one made up rebel on Valentine’s Day. Their columnists wasted a lot of ink and paper on this matter.  Hopeless, I must say. Let me not blame their up bringing. You find a lot of such people all around you. I don’t read news papers as I used to. I am honest from my heart when I say I lost respect for media and their ruling giants.  It is a waste of time to read about Australian Donkeys and their achievements by hook or by crook method or their loyal pink Indian undergarments. I  told my friend  that I will join her in her social service and contribute the money earned out of stopped subscriptions.. My mother is right. She was honest. She never purchased an award as she never believed in it. And for the people who waste news paper spaces on birds and a few pieces of biscuits, I sympathize. Instead of writing such frivolous columns about pickles and birds they can go and teach a few children of construction workers. Or let them down load from Google who the freedom fighters of India or about Jhansi Ki Rani.

STORY OF AMBARISHA

In Hindu mythology, Durvasa in Devanagari, durvāsa or Durvasas is an ancient sage, the son of Atri and Anasuya. He is supposed to be an incarnation of Shiva. He is known for his short temper. Maledictions or curses he gives in his rage ruin many lives. Hence, wherever he went, he was received with great reverence (out of fear) from humans and Devas alike. He is commonly portrayed as desiring to enjoy others' hospitality and becoming exceedingly angry and sting curses when hosts display any sort of impropriety or fail to please him as a guest. Conversely, hosts who serve him well are often blessed by him.
King Ambarisha was the great grandson of Vaivaswatha Manu.

Sage Durvasa's confrontation with Ambarisha is a famous story from the Bhagavata Purana. Ambarisha was a great devotee of Vishnu and adhered firmly to the truth. He performed a Yagnya with such great devotional fervour that Narayana was pleased to bless him with his Sudarshana Chakra ("Sudarshana" meaning "good-looking" or "beautiful") as a shield of protection over him. Once, Ambarisha performed a religious rite known as the Ekadashi and Dvadashi Vrata, for 1 year (i.e. the king would fast on the 11th day of every lunar month, and break his fast the next day). After observing this practice for a year, he took up a final fast of 3 days and nights to conclude the rite. As the moment for breaking this fast drew near, sage Durvasa arrived where Ambarisha was and the king received him with due respect. Durvasa agreed to the king's request to be his honoured guest, and asked the king to wait until he had finished his bath in the river Yamuna. The auspicious moment soon arrived when the king had to break his fast to fulfill his vow, but Durvasa had not yet returned from his bath. Ambarisha was in a dilemma, as, on the one hand, it was impolite to take food before serving a guest, but on the other, the time had come for the fast to be broken. After consulting his priests, the king broke his fast by taking a sip of water, and awaited Durvasa's arrival to offer him food.

Durvasa felt that Ambarisha had violated the respect due to a guest by breaking his fast before the guest had taken his meal, and in his rage created a demon to kill Ambarisha, out of a strand of his hair. Narayana’s Sudarshana Chakra intervened, destroyed the demon and started chasing Durvasa himself. Durvasa went to Brahma and Shiva for protection. Both pleaded their inability to save him. Durvasa next went to Narayana himself, who said that he could do nothing as he was bound by the blemishless devotion of Ambarisha and suggested that the sage seek the king's pardon. Durvasa took this adivce and returned to Ambarisha, who prayed to Vishnu to recall the Sudarshana and save the sage, whereby the discuss ceased to afflict him.
